Ipswich High School Meet

We arrived at Ipswich High School on Friday afternoon, 1st May, the weather was absolutely lovely, the field soon became packed and the fun began. Friday evening saw the marquees being erected and an informal get together for anyone who was still with it after a hectic week at work (excluding Duncan).

Saturday morning saw yet another lovely hot day, everyone was doing their own thing, including Mark and Dave who were going round the field taking photos of people as they got up and preparing their breakfasts (who knows what they aim to do with these in the future, be warned). We decided to walk down to the Marina for a drink and chat with friends and fellow campers, visiting the camping shop on the way back.

In the evening we had a fish supper, there were cockles, eels, prawns, whelks and crabsticks, more than enough for everyone. Our thanks go to Duncan and his team for organising this. During the evening we had Chris on the keyboard and Duncan leading the sing-along (or rather trying to). It was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Sunday morning Val and myself were woken by a version of happy birthday and loads of balloons and banners; we opened our presents and hurriedly got ready for the ramble to the pub with all our fellow campers. It was a lovely walk in the sun, and after a couple of drinks began to walk back.

That evening there was a music quiz and I even managed to get some of the answers (I must be improving).

Thank you to Brian and Chris for a lovely weekend, we are looking forward to next year.

Sue and Malcolm
