Temporary Holiday Site at Borowaters

22-31 May 2009

Most of the campers arrived on the Friday, well most of us except for Mr Mrs Carter were the AA  had to bring them along later minus there car  that was left at the roadside (don't  buy a shogun??) the car finally showed up on the Thursday Steve was £400 lighter!!!! There was a little wine tasting going on in the marquee.

Saturday morning, well every morning you could join Roy for a communal dog walk. Then in the afternoon we had a hog roast to tell you the truth it was quite disturbing seeing the pig with all its bits going around on that spit but it did taste very nice indeed.  I think I  can speak for most people.

Sunday I think they put a big screan for the grand prix in the barn. Pattersons and Carters went to the Southend Air Show, it was good.  I think the weather had a lot to do with it as it was the hottest day so we came back burnt but a good day. Then in the evening we had a camping equipment auction which we proudly £40 for the youth section. WELL DONE EVERYBODY as well as JAMIE MORGAN who didn’t really know what he was bidding for just getting daggers from his wife across the marquee. There was an astronomy session however that was cancelled dew to the weather, the heavens opened not nice!!!!

Tuesday we had a bingo night that good and the prize money we had some good winson our table. Wednesday THE BIG DAY fishing competition throught out the the day quite a few entered the winners were 1st Roy 8llb 12oz 2nd Ray 6llb 3rd Duncan 1llb 12oz 4th Bob 1llb. The children had a rocket competition that has had an affect on my husband (MICK) cos he has gone out and bought one of those rocket launchers (he says its for the children!!!) its wre the children had to decorate a fizzy bottle then poor mark got soaked launching them mind you the kids had fun the winner was Lauren she got her rocket the furthest. Some of the dogs liked the lake having a dip. Thursday the children had a Britain's got talent comp, I must say they are brill all of them.

On the Friday we took our children horse ridding they had a great time at that I should think so at £13.50 half hour!!!! In the eve we had the chip van come, well all I can say folks is he wont be coming back hay Duncan!!! Then we had the band in the barn that was a brill night everyone up dancing even the lady who takes her dog for a walk with her in her scotter!!!. Saturday a few of us went North Weald market come back skint, sad day to knowing that we all going home the next day. Well as you all know Sunday we had coffee morning and just to say thank you to you all for a great week.
